Happy New Year!!!
A time to reflect on the year that has passed and a time to turn over a new page and a new beginning or a change.
During 2019 we were fortunate to turn the page on my 45-year career and move to a part time status, which I will maintain through the middle of 2020 – my Encore Career!
To celebrate my Encore Career we took a trip to California in late November, the goal of which was to drive the Pacific Coast Highway from San Diego to San Fransisco, see my post titled “California Adventure Complete.
We spent ten days in Florida to celebrate Christmas with the Dolan family, which we very much enjoy, this year the weather was not the best, but it was a good time anyway.
On December 21 – I ran a 10K (my first) in Winter Haven, Florida. I did the 6.2 miles in one hour 10 minutes and 17 seconds. https://www.athlinks.com/event/179127/results/Event/839328/Course/1516689/Bib/9340
Now that we have returned to NJ we look forward to the new year and are hoping the winter is mild and the spring weather is soon upon us.
I look forward to the spring planting season at the garden.
I adjusted my work schedule so I can do the Food Pantry run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, previously I had a meeting that prevented me from doing the run on Monday’s.
Now that I conquered the 10K, I have my sights on a half marathon, I am thinking in the early fall possibly September or October – someplace in the NJ area.
